Ellen Dennis
Ellen Dennis is an independent producer in the international arts community. Ellen has produced, managed and toured works worldwide for artists including Mikhail Baryshnikov, Peter Brook, Jules Feiffer, Diamanda Galas, Philip Glass, Andre Gregory, Bill Irwin, Barrie Kosky, Dmitry Krymov, Arthur Miller, Steve Reich, Twyla Tharp, Robert Wilson; and for American Ballet Theater, BAM, NPR (Peabody Award), PBS, the Onassis Foundation, and the Wiener Festwochen. Ellen was Festival Producer for Season of Cambodia, presenting the work of 125 Cambodian performing and visual artists in 34 major New York City cultural venues. During her six seasons as Producer of New York City Center's Fall for Dance festival, Ellen presented the work of 150 dance companies. She has consulted for the Australia Arts Council, The Asia Society, Columbia University, Guggenheim Museum, Taiwanese Cultural Council, and Under the Radar. In Austria, Ellen created an arts program for unaccompanied minors at the Traiskirchen Refugee Camp. She continued her long-term collaboration with Dorcy Rubamba who performed in Peter Brook’s TIERNO BOKAR for Columbia University in 2005 (Steven Chaikelson, General Manager, Ellen Dennis, Producer) as Consulting Producer and Dance Curator for the extraordinary inaugural Kigali Triennial in 2024. In 2025, Ellen produced the world premiere of Dorcy Rugamba’s HEWA RWANDA at the Adelaide Festival in Australia, thanks to the partnership of Arts Projects Australia with whom she collaborated on Peter Brook’s THE MAHABHARATA in 1987.
