Sarah Huffard
Sarah Huffard (b. 1988) is a New York based artist and recent graduate of Columbia School of the Arts’ Visual Arts MFA program (2026). Her work in painting and film photography is focused on unfolding the process of seeing. Research into fundamental elements of visual experience has led her to explore the margins of what can be seen and what constitutes an image. Just as photography employs time and light to create images, Sarah is interested in paintings that are durational and light sensitive.
Sarah completed her undergraduate degree at Rhode Island School of Design (BFA Painting 2011). While a RISD student Sarah participated in the European Honors Program (2010). She has been exhibiting her work in New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island since 2011.
