Film Screenings

Experience Columbia Film in Action. Directly following the MFA Info Session, join us for a special screening of three acclaimed short films by Columbia alumni Celebrate the storytelling, artistry, and bold filmmaking that define Columbia’s Film Program. A conversation with filmmakers Jean Chapiro '25, Nana Duffuor '25, and Ren Guang '25 will follow the screenings.

A young Russian artist makes an anti-war statement by swapping food labels with pacifist messages in a Moscow supermarket, leading to her arrest and the threat of a 10-year prison sentence. Based on a true story.

Theatre Production

Columbia University School of Arts MFA Acting Cohort of 2026 presents Jackie Sibblies Drury’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Fairview, directed by Jasminn Johnson.

Beverly needs her mother’s birthday party to be perfect, but nothing is going to plan. Jasmine is drinking, Dayton is happily unhelpful, Keisha is a teenager, Tyrone is MIA, the radio is going off, and other people’s opinions are intruding on everything!

*Ticketed event. Seating is limited and first come, first served; any unclaimed tickets are released 15 minutes before start time.

Visual Arts + Sound Art

Columbia University School of the Arts will host the MFA Visual Arts + Sound Art Open Studios and Information Sessions on November 16. Visitors are invited to explore the School's graduate studios, meet current MFA students, and learn about their studio practices. Morning Information Sessions include conversations with faculty, guided tours of the facilities, and an overview of the program’s curriculum and admissions process.
