Candela Bado

Candela Bado (b. Montevideo) is a visual artist whose practice spans sculpture, installation, and ceramics. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Netherlands, and a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University in New York, and has also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Bado's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions globally, including prominent solo and duo presentations at SUBTE and Walden Naturae in her native Uruguay. Internationally, her work has been exhibited at institutions and galleries such as The Wallach Art Gallery and mimo in New York, Salón ACME in Mexico, TENT Rotterdam in the Netherlands, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, and the Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece. In recognition of her artistic practice, Bado was nominated for the National Fine Arts Prize in Uruguay and has received grants from STROOM Den Haag in the Netherlands and the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture.
