Tina Benko

Ms. Benko is currently working on projects with playwright Max Wolf Friedlich and director Daniel Fish. She recently performed in the world premiere of Suddenly Last Summer the opera at Bard Summerscape and Fallen Angels at Roundabout Theatre. Other recent premieres include David Ives's Pamela Palmer at Williamstown, Emily Mann's adaptation of The Pianist at George Street Playhouse and Claudia Rankin's Help at The Shed. Broadway credits include: Appropriate, The Rose Tattoo, The Crucible, MacBeth, The Cherry Orchard, Top Girls, and Not About Nightingales. Other Theatre includes: Sarah Ruhl's Becky Nurse of Salem at Lincoln Center, SpindleShuttleNeedle at Clubbed Thumb, Scenes From a Marriage and The Little Foxes both directed by Ivo Van Hove for NY Theatre Workshop, Jonathan Spector’s Eureka Day for Colt Couer, Rajiv Joseph's Describe The Night for The Atlantic Theatre Company, Julius Caesar for Shakespeare in the Park/The Public, Julie Taymor's production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Theatre For A New Audience, Elfriede Jellinek's Jackie (Lucille Lortel nomination) Daniel Fish's Who Left This Fork Here at Baryshnikov Arts, and the international tour of Toni Morrison's play Desdemona directed by Peter Sellars. Ms. Benko has performed with Improvisational troupes Improbable UK, Theatresports, and Madcap, and has been involved in new play development at New Dramatists, The Lark, Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference, Page 73, NewYork Stage and Film, and the Drama League. She has taught at Carnegie Mellon, HB Studios, LIU, Fordham University, and Columbia University.
