Joshua Edwards
Joshua Edwards directs Canarium Books. He's author of several collections of poetry, including The Exhausted Dream, The Double Lamp of Solitude, and Imperial Nostalgias, and a photobook, Photographs Taken at One-Hour Intervals During a Walk from Galveston Island to the West Texas Town of Marfa; and he translated María Baranda's book-length poem, Ficticia, and co-translated (with Lynn Xu) Lao Yang's Pee Poems. His most recent publication is a hybrid photo/text booklet, My First Vision Was of Gabriel Standing in a Fire. His photographic work has been the subject of exhibitions at Rice University, Akademie Schloss Solitude, Galveston Artist Residency, the University of Arizona Poetry Center, and University of Texas Permian Basin. Edwards is the recipient of grants and fellowships from the Stegner Program, the Fulbright Program, and Akademie Schloss Solitude, and he has taught at Pratt Institute, Stanford University, University of Michigan, University of Chicago, and elsewhere.
