Eliza Barry Callahan is a writer and filmmaker from New York, NY. Her first novel, The Hearing Test, was published in 2024 and won the Bard Fiction Prize, was a finalist for the New York Public Library Young Lions Award, and was longlisted for The Carol Shields Prize for Fiction. Her writing has appeared in Bomb, The Paris Review, The Drift, frieze, and elsewhere. Her short film, The Non-Actor, premiered at TIFF and International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in 2025 and is distributed by MUBI. She was a 2023 New York Foundation of The Arts Fellow.
