Eliza Barry Callahan is a writer, filmmaker, and musician from New York, NY. Her first novel, The Hearing Test, was published in 2024 and was a finalist for the New York Public Library Young Lions Award and longlisted for The Carol Shields Prize for Fiction. She was a 2023 New York Foundation for The Arts Fellow. Her writing has appeared in Bomb, The Paris Review, The Drift, frieze, and elsewhere. Her short film, The Non-Actor, premiered at International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in 2025. She was a 2023 New York Foundation of The Arts Fellow. She teaches at Columbia University.
