David Gordon

David Gordon was born in New York City. He attended Sarah Lawrence College, holds an MA in English and Comparative Literature and an MFA in Writing, both from Columbia University. His latest novel - Behind Sunset – was published in July of 2025, and his next, One Sip of Blood, is forthcoming in 2026. He is the author eight other novels, a book of stories and an original audiobook, read by David Hasselhoff. His first novel, The Serialist, won the VCU/Cabell First Novel Award and was a finalist for an Edgar Award. It was also a best seller in Japan, winning three major literary awards, and was made into a feature film. His novels have also been translated into Chinese, Korean, French, German, Turkish, Russian and Polish. A video game co-written with Hampton Fancher, (Bladerunner, Bladerunner 2049) is due in 2026. His work has appeared in Harpers, Paris Review, The New York Times Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, Fence, Brazenhead Review, Maggot Brain, LitHub, Electric Literature, and others.
