Stuart Weinstock

Stuart Weinstock is a film programmer, a Professor of Film Studies, and a filmmaker. He earned his BA in Film Studies and Psychology from Columbia College and his MFA in Directing from Columbia's School of the Arts. His short films have screened and won awards at film festivals in the US and abroad. Weinstock has taught Film courses at Ramapo College of New Jersey, Mercy College, Dominican College, and the New York Film Academy. At Columbia, Weinstock currently teaches Topics in Israeli Cinema and Auteur Study: Steven Spielberg. His past Columbia courses include Introduction to the Study and Theory of Film, Topics in American Cinema: The History of Comedy, and New Hollywood: 1967–1980. Weinstock has been the film programmer for Columbia's Institute of Israel and Jewish Studies since 2012. He is the Director of Film Programming at JCC MetroWest, where he runs the Malvin & Greta Roesch New Jersey Jewish Film Festival.
