Emma Ramadan is a literary translator of over 40 books from French. She has been awarded the PEN Translation Prize, the Albertine Prize, two NEA Fellowships, a Fulbright, the James Tait Black Prize, and the Crime Fiction in Translation Dagger. Her translations include books by Anne Garréta, Marguerite Duras, Abdellah Taïa, Lamia Ziadé, Sophie Calle, Scholastique Mukasonga, Virginie Despentes, and Françoise Ega. She is also the co-founder and former owner of Riffraff bookstore and bar in Providence, Rhode Island, and the former director of the Art Omi international writers residency in upstate New York.
