Tadas Bugnevicius

Tadas Bugnevicius is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Film and Media Studies Program at Columbia University School of the Arts. His research and teaching interests include theories of modernity, French visual and literary culture 1790–1970, world cinema, and literature. His work has been published in French Screen Studies, Balzac Review/Revue Balzac, Études Francophones, and he has contributed chapters to The Routledge Handbook of Cartographic Humanities and Conflict Resolution and the Cold War: Media Encounters Across the Iron Curtain. He is currently completing his book manuscript, Not Your Pop’s Movies: The Progressive Cinema of the French Tradition of Quality (1945–1959), which reappraises the pre-French New Wave narrative film.
