Julia Thompson

Julia Thompson is a film and podcast producer, writer, and director with 15 years of experience in the film industry. Their recent work includes co-producing the Netflix documentary series Kings of Tupelo, hosting and producing two seasons of the podcast You Had to Be There, producing Dustin Guy Defa’s feature The Adults (Universal Pictures), and directing the short documentary Little Boy Loon, which premiered at the Camden International Film Festival and was featured on Le Cinéma Club.

They teach film production and are an adjunct professor at both Barnard College and Columbia University’s MFA Film Program. Julia holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University and is a Sundance Creative Producing Fellow.
