Andrew Brehm

Andrew Brehm is a multidisciplinary sculptor whose practice integrates sculpture, video, and performance to explore the uncanny intersections of material, narrative, and play. Rooted in sustainability, his studio operates as a kind of closed-loop system, where materials are sourced, reused, and reinvented to minimize waste. He often develops his own materials—such as a custom paper clay made from recycled paper waste—which not only reduces environmental impact but also deepens his physical and conceptual connection to the work.

Andrew holds an MFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BFA in Crafts/Studio Furniture from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. He has taught at Rutgers University, Kutztown University, Columbia University, the Stone Carving Studio, and several other institutions.
