Andrew Howell

Andrew Howell is a Writer/Director from Ypsilanti, MI. He holds an MFA from the Columbia Film Program, and a BA in Film & Media from the University of Michigan. Andrew works primarily in dramatic narrative, his stories often dealing with familial conflicts. He is currently developing the screenplay for his debut feature set in northern Michigan.

His work has gained recognition at festivals across the US—his first short film, Walk Off, premiered at NewFilmmakers Los Angeles and won Best Student Film awards at Oneota Film Festival and the River Bend Film Festival, where he was also awarded the Howard Hawks Filmmaking Award. Andrew’s subsequent work has played at Fargo Film Festival, Columbus International Film and Animation Festival, and Phoenix Film Festival.
