Stephen Lee

Stephen Lee is a Filipino-American filmmaker working in independent film and developing several projects, including his debut feature.

His shorts include At Little Wheelie Three Days Ago (Locarno, 2022) and Manila is full of Men Named Boy (Venice, 2018).

He is part of the producing team behind Uncle Hiep's Casino, shooting Spring 2026.

Stephen is a former Development and Production Executive at Cinema Inutile, supporting the films: The Settlers (Los Colonos) (Cannes, 2023), Girls Will Be Girls (Sundance, 2024), Being Maria (Cannes, 2024), Viêt and Nam (Cannes, 2024), Happyend (Venice, 2024), Stranger Eyes (Venice, 2024), Rebuilding (Sundance & Berlin, 2025), and Left-handed Girl (Cannes, 2025).

As an editor, Stephen cut the feature Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) (Berlinale 2020), acquired by Janus Films for the Criterion Collection, as well as the shorts Birdie (Sundance 2026), The Pass (Cannes & TIFF 2022), and Entre Tú Y Milagros (Venice, Orizzonti Prize, 2020).
