Melanie Rish-Ho

Melanie Rish-Ho is a Canadian-born, Hong Kong-raised, writer & director living in Brooklyn. She recently earned her MFA in Screenwriting from Columbia University, where she also taught undergraduate screenwriting as a fellow.

Her short film work has won awards like the Red Dot Communication Design Award and Best Live Action Film at the Forbes under 30 Short Film Festival. She is currently in the beginning stages of writing her fourth feature screenplay.

Melanie’s stories tend to explore romantic and familial relationships through comedy and dramedy. She is fascinated by the bonds we take most seriously in life and the funny ways they make us behave.
