“We asked members of the production to take a COVID-19 test and then come to work for socially distanced filming,” Mahoney shared. “We were trying to figure out how to make it happen whether that’s finding people to make chicken puppets or finding a grocery store that will let us film a music video in front of the vegetable aisle.” Each piece was filmed in one day and deadlines were flexible in order to allow for pauses in production.

Theatre Battery produces experimental plays for the suburban community of Kent, Washington, aiming to nurture audiences’ understanding of the connection between theatre and relevant social issues. As Kent's only source of community theatre, Theatre Battery tasks local artists to create socially testing and unapologetic work that ignites the community. Mahoney is a founding member of Theatre Battery.
