Theatre Directing alumnus Adam Marple '10 is directing Thornton Wilder’s The Skin of Our Teeth at The American University in Cairo, Egypt where he is Assistant Professor of Directing.

The American University has decided to mount The Skin of Our Teeth, one of Pulitzer Prize winner Thornton Wilder’s most famous plays, in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the playwright's birth. This comedy spans the entirety of world history, while focusing on one ordinary American family who lives through it all. The Antrobus family of Excelsior, New Jersey, perseveres through Ice Ages, floods, and devastating war. The play is about fortitude and the fate of humanity. It is a play that is set across the ages and presents a theatrical allegory that touches on human resilience in the face of life-altering events. It speaks to all that humans have overcome since the beginning of time.

The show runs from November 16 through 24 at the Gerhart Theatre.
