Alumna and Adjunct Professor Katrine Øgaard Jensen '17 recently published her latest translation of Ursula Andkjær Olsen's poetry, Outgoing Vessel, from the Danish through Action Books.

The Writing Program welcomed Namwali Serpell to its Creative Writing Lecture series last week.

Assistant Professor Leslie Jamison moderated a discussion on climate writing as part of The Center for Fiction On America series. Jamison is the author of three nonfiction books—The Recovering The Empathy Exams, and most recently, the essay collection Make it Scream, Make it Burn—as well as a novel, The Gin Closet. She is a contributing writer for the New York Times magazine.

Associate Professor Hilton Als recently sat down with acclaimed columnist and political commentator Charles M. Blow to discuss Blow’s latest book, The Devil You Know. The event was part of The Harry Belafonte Black Liberation Speaker Series.

Literary Translation at Columbia (LTAC), a component of the Columbia University MFA Writing Program, welcomed acclaimed poet and translator Sawako Nakayasu last month for a lecture and discussion.

Boom! Studios recently announced that Eve, a new five-issue original comic book series by Associate Professor and alumnus Victor LaValle '98 and artist Jo Mi-Gyeong, will be released in May of 2021.
