Jack Lowery

Jack Lowery is the author of It Was Vulgar and It Was Beautiful: How AIDS Activists Used Art to Fight a Pandemic, which was shortlisted for the J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize and named a staff pick by The New York Times Book Review. His writing has appeared in publications such as The Atlantic, The Times Literary Supplement, and The Awl. He has taught in the Undergraduate Writing Program at Columbia University, where he also received his MFA in Nonfiction Writing. As an editor, he has published the poetry of David Wojnarowicz. He lives in Brooklyn.
