Iesh Thapar

Iesh is a writer and director of film, TV, and video games.

His short films have played at prestigious international film festivals, including The BFI London Film Festival, Aspen Shortfest, and Palm Springs, to name a few. In the past, Iesh's work has been supported by Film London, The BFI Network, The Sundance Institute, Film Independent, ESPN, The Tribeca Film Institute, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

Iesh was named one of 25 UK ‘Lodestars’ rising stars of cinema, is a BAFTA LA Scholar/Newcomer recipient, an awardee of the John Brabourne Award, and the winner of the 2017 Ezra Litwak Award for distinction in screenwriting.

Last year, Iesh was a selected Director for BFI NETWORK x BAFTA CREW professional development scheme. He was a chosen participant for the Film Independent Screenwriting Lab and Fast Track finance market, as well as a mentee for the '1497' South Asian features talent incubator lab.

Along with his film and TV work, Iesh has worked as a writer and voice/performance capture director for some of the world's most popular and premier AAA video games. Recent titles include: Dragon’s Dogma 2, Watch Dogs Legion, Hitman 2, and The Division 2, for clients such as Capcom, Ubisoft, Massive Entertainment, and IO Interactive.

Iesh is a graduate of the MFA Film program at Columbia University School of the Arts, in New York City, and is currently developing his first feature, Alien Kulture, a mini-series, The Marble Orchard, and a TV show based on the award winning novel We That Are Young with Gaumont US.
