Theatre Alumna Danielle Feder ’21 has launched an exciting new podcast about theatre, called Partial View. The podcast serves as a platform for in-depth discussions on different aspects of the theatre world, with guests often being Feder’s fellow graduates from the School of the Arts.

Partial View offers an accessible and engaging insight into the past, present and future of the theatre. “Be part of the conversation as we discuss our questions, frustrations, and ideas for how we can all leave The American Theatre better than we found it,” Feder says in the podcast's description.

A couple of months back, Dramaturgy alumna Cristina ‘Cha’ Ramos ’21 appeared on the show to discuss the intricate subjects of intimacy and fight direction in the world of theatre.

On July 13th, 2023 Feder sat down with Theatre alumnus Andrew Agress ’22 to delve into horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genre theatre.

“I'm a big podcast listener, and I was inspired to start Partial View because I noticed that the vast majority of theatre podcasts out there focus primarily on interviews with actors and occasionally other artists, but usually don't engage critically with the issues in the arts industry that come up,” Feder said. “They don’t go in-depth because that isn't the goal of those podcasts, but conversations around issues of accessibility, representation, pay, etc., are incredibly important. So, I wanted to create a podcast that puts these conversations at the center, even if they are sometimes difficult. My co-host Alexandra Ley and I certainly don't expect to solve any of these systemic problems, but we hope to raise questions, get people thinking, and inspire people to leave the theatre industry better than we found it.”

The podcast is available on Spotify.
