Theatre alumna Tatiana Pandiani '16 will direct Doménica Feraud's new play, Someone Spectacular, making its world premiere Off-Broadway this summer at the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.
Someone Spectacular follows six recently bereaved strangers who gather for weekly group therapy sessions. This routine is disrupted when their grief counselor goes missing, causing the session to go off the rails. This turn of events leads to an open-ended meditation on loss, with revelations that are at once beautiful, funny, and heartbreaking.
The cast will feature Gamze Ceylan (Ben Is Back, Tales of the City) as Evelyn, Alison Cimmet (Gary, She Loves Me, The Mystery of Edwin Drood) as Nelle, Delia Cunningham (Regional: A View from the Bridge, Paper Girls, Elementary, Madam Secretary) as Jude, Marcus Gladney Jr. (Choir Boy, Underground Railroad, City on a Hill) as Julian, Ana Cruz Kayne (Barbie, Little Women, Painkiller) as Lily, and Damian Young (The Comeback, Birdman, The Trial of the Chicago 7) as Thom.
The production features scenic design by two-time Tony nominated design collective dots, costume design by Siena Zoë Allen, lighting design by Drama Desk nominee Oona Curley, sound design by Tony nominee Mikaal Sulaiman, and casting by Conrad Woolfe and Leigh Ann Smith. General management is by Cheryl Dennis Productions, with the play being produced by B3-A12/Doménica Feraud, Paige Evans, and Margaret Leigh.
Previews will begin on July 17, 2024 andthe play will officially open on July 31, 2024.

A director, producer, and choreographer, Pandiani is the New Works Director at Miami New Drama where she currently oversees new play and musical commissions. Pandiani has developed and directed work at Signature Theatre and The Public, among others. She was a NYTW Directing Fellow and is a recipient of the National Directors Fellowship from the O'Neill Center & the Kennedy Center.
