Theatre Professor Lynn Nottage’s play Fabulation, or the Re-Education of Undine will be revived in a new production opening this month at Brooklyn's Billie Holiday Theatre. Nottage’s play, a social satire set in Brooklyn, first premiered in 2004 at Playwrights Horizons and was subsequently revived in 2018 at Signature Theatre.

This new production marks the show’s second New York revival and the first time it’s been done in Brooklyn. As a Brooklyn native, the location holds special resonance for Nottage. “Fabulation is set in Brooklyn, and I’m beyond thrilled to be sharing the play with my hometown audience,” she said. "The very first theatre I ever experienced was at the Billie Holiday, and so this is definitely a full circle moment for me."

Fabulation follows a successful Black publicist living in Manhattan who is forced to return to Brooklyn and her working-class background when her husband runs off with her money.

This production will be directed by Martavius Parrish, with Felicia Curry opening the run as Undine, and Kedren Spencer taking over for the final two weeks. Dramaturgy is by Miranda Holliday.

Fabulation opens on April 18, 2024 at the Billie Holiday Theatre and will run through May 19. Tickets are available here
