BY Angeline Dimambro, July 23, 2021

The Art of Resonance, the latest book written by Professor Anne Bogart, will be published September 23, 2021.

The book is forthcoming from Bloomsbury Publishing as part of the Theatre Makers series from the imprint Methuen Drama. The series celebrates and draws together the work of some of the most seminal theatre makers. Among the series’ volumes, readers will encounter a range of mediums, including essays, diaries, personal correspondence, interviews, and more from some of the most influential theatre practitioners from the past and present.

What is artistic resonance and how can it be linked to one's life and one's art? This is the question Bogart poses in her forthcoming book. In The Art of Resonance, Bogart, through a collection of essays, considers the creation of resonance in the artistic endeavour, with a particular focus on the performing arts.

Creating pathways between performance theory, art history, neuroscience, music, architecture and the visual arts, and consistently forging new thought-paths, the writing in The Art of Resonance draws upon Bogart's own life and artistic journeys to illuminate potent philosophical ideas. The collection of essays include personal anecdotes from Bogart’s career and life, stories, and broader reflections from one of the most esteemed theatre practitioners today.

The Art of Resonance is available for preorder now.
