Last week marked the opening of the fourth annual Global Forms Theater Festival. The event, hosted by Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and presented in partnership with New York Theatre Salon, brings together innovative international and immigrant theater artists living in the United States and abroad. Running through June 11, 2023, this year’s festival shines a spotlight on a group of talented artists from the School of the Arts.

Producing alumna Yue Liu ’16 is the festival's Lead Producer. Joining her is Dramaturgy alumna Salma S. Zohdi ’16, festival producer. Directing alumna Nana Dakin ’18 will participate in a discussion about fostering sustainable theater. Adding to this lineup is Fouad Hassan, a Stage Management student who will be the production stage manager for STEPPE, one of the projects presented at the festival.

The Global Forms Theater Festival will explore humanity, freedom and isolationism through different workshop presentations, panel discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions. The theme of this year's festival is 'Green Theater', focusing on sustainable practices in theater production. The events are free and open to the public. You can get tickets here.
