Several of Columbia’s alums and faculty are showcasing their work at this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach, one of the most prestigious art fairs in the western hemisphere, which takes place annually in December at Miami Beach Convention Center and forms the cornerstone of Miami Art Week. This year’s edition will take place from December 5 to 7, 2025.

Originally launched in Basel, Switzerland in 1970 by gallerists Ernst Beyeler, Trudl Bruckner, and Balz Hilt, Art Basel quickly became one of the world’s premier modern and contemporary art fairs. The Miami Beach edition followed decades later, becoming the first Art Basel outside Europe and drawing hundreds of galleries from five continents and showcasing their artists—modern masters, emerging voices, and a vibrant interplay of global art cultures.

At Art Basel Miami Beach this year, Assistant Professor of Visual Arts and Director of Graduate Studies David Antonio Cruz will be presenting work with Monique Meloche Gallery. Professor of Professional Practice Rirkrit Tiravanija will present work with two galleries, gallery kurimanzutto in Booth E21 and with Gladstone in Booth C8. Associate Professor Sable Elyse Smith will present work with Bortolami/Thomas Dane at booth G23. Others presenting work in the main sector are Visual Arts alums Zelmira Rizo '25 and Jose Zuniga '17, who will both present work with Central Fine Gallery at Booth B12, and Joeun Kim Aatchim '17 with François Ghebaly at Booth B14.

Running concurrently with Art Basel during Miami Art Week is Untitled Art, the acclaimed satellite fair held directly on the sands of South Beach, taking place this year from December 3 to 7, 2025. Visual Arts alums Natalie Beall '09, who will present work with Morgan Lehman, John Rivas '21, who will exhibit with Superposition Gallery, Nicole Burko '19, who will present work with Dimensions Variable at Booth A91, Linus Borgo '22, who will present with Yossi Milo Gallery, and Aristotle Forrester '24, who will present work with NYC Culture Club at Booth A93, will all be exhibiting their work at Untitled, alongside Columbia’s own not-for-profit printshop, the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies, which will set up shop in Booth A94.

Also taking place during Miami Art Week will be the 23rd edition of NADA Miami, a fair hosted by the New Art Dealers Alliance—the definitive non-profit dedicated to the cultivation and advancement of new voices in contemporary art. NADA Miami 2025 will showcase a diverse selection of nearly 140 galleries, art spaces, and nonprofit organizations spanning 30 countries and 65 cities including Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Lagos, Honolulu, Caracas, and Pittsburgh. The work of alum Baris Gokturk '20 will be on view at NADA Miami with Galeri Bosfor at Booth D100, while Annette Hur '19 will present her work with Chart Gallery and Assistant Professor of Visual Arts Kenny Rivero will show with Charles Moffett.

Also exhibiting work in Miami are alums Priscilla Aleman '19—whose work will be on view as part of New Atlantis at GreenSpace Miami and a special Art Week exhibition at the Hotel Croydon Miami Beach—and Tony Chirinos '03, whose work will be on display at the Goodtime Hotel as part of Borderline
