Friend of the Pod, a new novella from Associate Professor Sam Lipsyte, is out now from Picture Books, an imprint dedicated to publishing fiction by leading authors alongside contributions by celebrated contemporary artists. The series, conceived by Emma Cline ’13, author of Daddy (Random House, 2020) and The Girls (Random House, 2016), pairs each writer with an artist.

The Confessions of Matthew Strong, a work of historical fiction by alumnus Ousmane K. Power-Greene ’21, is out next week from Other Press. 

Alumni Daphne Palasi Andreades ’19 and Jessamine Chan ’12 are both recognized on the shortlist for the 2022 First Novel Prize from the Center for Fiction.

Writing alumnus Francisco González '19 was recently awarded an O. Henry Prize for his short story "Clean Teen." González's story will be published in The Best Short Stories 2022: The O. Henry Prize Winners by Anchor Books on September 13, 2022. The anthology is now available for pre-order.

The Windfall (Crown, 2017) by Assistant Professor Diksha Basu '14 was recently chosen by comedian and actress Lilly Singh as her April book club read. The Windfall was Basu's debut novel and is available for purchase here.

Knopf Doubleday recently published The Swimmers by Julie Otsuka '94. The book is now available for purchase.

Writing Research Arts Student Laura Green recently placed first in the Story Foundation Prize for her short story, "Stuck."
