Some sections of this course may be full, but spots can open up as students’ plans change, both during registration and the Change of Program period. Students who cannot register for the section of their choice because it is at capacity will be put on a waitlist for that section. They will be offered places in that section as places become available. If students wish, they can also enroll in a different section of the course.

Introduction to analog photographic camera, techniques, and printing. This class explores black & white, “old fashioned” analog camera photography and darkroom processing and printing.  Areas covered include camera operations, black-and-white darkroom work, 8x10 print production, and work critique. We emphasize growing your creative image-making skills to develop your artistic vision. The course explores the basics of photography and its history through weekly camera assignments, lab printing, demonstrations, critiques, and readings. No prior photography experience is required. Enrolled students can check out Analog Camera, have access to Darkroom, and are provided with Darkroom Chemistry supplies.

Columbia students do not need to apply, but they do need to register. All visiting students will need to apply to the School of Professional Studies and register upon acceptance.
