Current film student Molly Evans launched a COVID-19 relief fundraiser called Rise Together, Sweat Together on May 17th. She also produced the accompanying music video in which 30 artists cover Audra Day’s Rise Up accompanied by jazz pianist Emmet Cohen, which was featured on Broadway World.

Commenting on the launch, Evans said, “I was inspired to give back during this turbulent time because a substantial amount of people are going hungry due to the COVID-19 crisis. I knew that if I teamed up with two of my good friends as co-producers who were also inspired to give back that we could pool our networks together to gather recording artists, Broadway singers, and TV actors to participate in a launch video. Jenna Rubaii, co-producer, is a Broadway actress and Jaime Swartz, co-producer, is a recording artist and they each brought something vital and unique to the table.”

The fundraiser sets out to support struggling communities with access to fresh meals during the crisis. It leads up to a virtual shared work-out on June 14th where different virtual instructors lead classes on donation-basis with all the funds raised going to World Central Kitchen.
