Sushant Chaudhary '21 is the Assistant Editor of 'The End of Oak Street,' the Summer Blockbuster Headed to Theaters August 14

When a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from its 1980s suburban neighborhood to a place unknown, the Platt family (led by Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor) must navigate their perilous surroundings—and stick together—or perish.

The new sci-fi thriller, The End of Oak Street, was written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, produced by Bad Robot and Jackson Pictures, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Directing alum Sushant Chaudhary '21 joined the team as Assistant Editor to John Axelrad, ACE.

"The opening set piece of The End of Oak Street is cleverly staged, and suitably thrilling enough to give the 4DX format a workout," reviewed Bill Bria for Slash Film. So much so that he believes it to be a summer blockbuster of the "Spielbergian" sort. Bria noted: "While times do change, and that's not always a bad thing, it's kind of lovely to have a retro experience like this, too. I'm excited for all of us to discover what lurks around the corner of 'Oak Street' together in just a few short weeks." Spoiler alert: it might involve dinosaurs.

Catch The End of Oak Street in theaters and IMAX everywhere August 14, 2026 and stay tuned for Warner Bros' fall release, Digger, for which Chaudhary served as Assistant Editor to Conor O'Neill and Stephen Mirrione, ACE. The narrative feature, following Tom Cruise as an aging hero on a frantic mission to save humanity, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, is due for IMAX release in October 2026.

Chaudhary, an Indian film editor based in Los Angeles, has served as additional and assistant editor on documentary features that have streamed on Netflix, Hulu, PBS, and HBO, including It's Never Over, Jeff Buckley, which premiered at Sundance and earned an ACE Eddie Nomination for Best Edited Feature Documentary. His short form work has screened at festivals around the world including Palm Springs ShortFest, FilmSchool Fest in Munich, Miami Film Festival, and been featured on platforms like Fullscreen, Omeleto, and Mubi. In 2022, Chaudhary was selected as an Honorary Intern at American Cinema Editors and is currently an Affiliate Member. He is a J.N. Tata Scholar and a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
