Film alum Chris Teague ’06 directed episodes two and three of Dying for Sex, a new comedy-drama miniseries based loosely on the real-life experiences of author and podcaster, Molly Kochan. The series opens with Kochan ten years into an unhappy marriage, receiving a diagnosis of stage four metastatic breast cancer while she is in the middle of a couple’s therapy with her husband. While at the hospital, Kochan confides in her counselor that she has never experienced an orgasm with anyone but her husband and the conversation inspires her to leave him and embark on a journey of sexual self-discovery. Premiering on April 4, 2025 on Hulu and Disney+, the show made the top ten most-streamed series in the US from March 31 to April 6, receiving positive critical reception.

Teague, who recently directed a few episodes of the Selena Gomez starrer, Only Murders in the Building (2021) and has shot for popular shows such as Glow (2017) and Russian Doll (2019), takes the helm for episodes two and three of Dying for Sex.

In episode 2, Molly begins to defy her prescribed treatment plan, choosing instead to follow her desires. The episode traces the start of her sexual awakening and erotic journey, beginning with spending an entire day in a hotel room pleasuring herself, eventually satisfying herself with someone she was camming with. All the while, her husband foots the bill for her expenses—including the cost of the luxury suite and the vibrator—and keeps her on his insurance.

In episode 3, Molly tries to maintain a positive attitude despite facing disturbances from her new neighbor. Now at a new apartment, Molly must adjust to the paper-thin walls that separate her from her neighbor, whose personal hygiene, general disregard for cleanliness in common spaces, and loud video game habit, she finds repulsive; but she finds herself strangely aroused when she hears him pleasuring himself one day.
