Dramaturgy alum Cha Ramos ’21 has punched her ticket for the Broadway adaptation of Death Becomes Her, where she’ll serve as Fight Director.

The new musical comedy, which began previews at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on October 23, follows the running feud between a fast fading actress and a long embittered writer, whose relationship takes a turn for the supernatural when they partake in a mysterious potion that promises eternal youth.

The production is directed by Christopher Gattelli, and stars Tony Nominees Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, and Christopher Sieber. The musical is based on Universal Pictures’ 1992 film of the same name, starring Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis.

As Fight Director, Ramos will be in charge of directing every physical fight, skirmish, and cheapshot that falls under the domain of stage combat. She’ll have plenty to do in a show heralded by BroadwayWorld as a “laugh-out-loud, two and a half hour cat fight.”

Tickets for Death Becomes Her are available for purchase here.

Ramos is currently fighting battles on multiple fronts. In addition to her duties on Death, she serves as Fight Director and Choreographer for the colorful Give Me Carmelita Tropicana! The show runs from October 23 through December 1 at Soho Rep, in its last production at the storied Walker Street venue.

Ramos can also be seen performing with Vixens En Garde, a feminine troupe of “blades for hire” that performs Shakespeare’s greatest hits with an emphasis on swordplay, wordplay, and women in all the best roles. The Vixens are currently touring renaissance faires across the northeast.
