Sound Art alum Avishag Cohen Rodrigues ’21 released her newest single, "Some Are,” off her upcoming EP All Happens at Night, with a music video directed by Adeline Thery. The music video, released in February 2025, features the singer gently singing her lyrics as she sails across a cityscape.
Cohen Rodrigues is active in the New York music scene, lending herself as a guitarist and synth player to a number of local ensembles. Notably, she’s the guitarist of the new wave collective cumgirl8, whose music and visuals are simultaneously maximalist and low-fi. Rodrigues’ solo work in All Happens At Night is relatively stripped down, like the voices that come to us while we dream.
All Happens At Night will be Cohen Rodrigues’ third solo project. The EP was written in New York, recorded in Berlin and published by the Athens-based label WMBG.
Cohen Rodrigues released her first album, One Winter, One Hunter, the year before she enrolled at Columbia, and has been performing and touring since she was a teenager. At Columbia, she brought other disciplines, like sculpture, into her creative process.
