Adjunct Assistant Professor Diana Peralta has been selected as one of the 5 inaugural fellows for the Ojalá Ignition Lab

The lab, founded by showrunner Tanya Saracho and UCP (a division of Universal Studio Group), started on January 11, 2022 and will take place over the course of 26-weeks. Peralta will have the opportunity to develop an original, polished television pilot script from start to finish, which will be commissioned by UCP. As part of this process, Peralta will gather virtually on a weekly basis with the other fellows as well as Ojalá and UCP executives to share and receive constructive feedback.

Diana Peralta is a director, writer, and producer. Her debut feature film, De Lo Mio (HBO), had its world premiere as the closing night film of BAMcinemaFest in 2019 and was picked up for distribution by HBO in 2020. Diana was featured in Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film." Her work as a producer on the short documentary La Feria Concreta was screened as part of the Dominican Republic’s first pavilion installation at the 2014 Venice Biennale of Architecture. She most recently worked at Red Antler, Revlon, and Vice.
