On September 27, 2023, as part of the School of the Arts's 2023-2024 public program and engagement series, Professor Timothy Donnelly joined McCrae for a conversation on memory, family, truth-finding, and boundary-pushing.

Adjunct Assistant Professor Lilly Dancyger will publish a new collection, First Love: Essays On Friendship, in May 2024 with The Dial Press, an imprint of Random House.

Ghost Pains, a short story collection by Writing alumna and Adjunct Assistant Professor Jessi Jezewska Stevens ’18, will be published on March 5, 2024 by And Other Stories Publishing. 

Lojman, a novel by Ebru Ojen, co-translated from the Turkish by Writing alumna Selin Gökçesu ’15 and translator Aron Aji, has been published by City Lights

Wandering In All Directions of This Earth, a poetry collection and two-time Tupelo Press Berkshire Prize finalist by Writing alumna Loisa Fenichell ’23, was published by Ghost Peach Press last month. 

Transit Books, a Bay Area-based publishing house founded by Writing alumni Adam Levy ’12 and Ashley Nelson Levy ’12, is largely responsible for the circulation of 2023 Nobel laureate Jon Fosse’s work in the United States.

Writing alum Orla Tinsley ’20 has received an honorary Doctorate of Literature from The University College of Dublin for their achievements in writing and healthcare. 

Prescription for Pain, a debut true crime book by Philip Eil ’11 will be published in April 2024 by Steerforth Press. 

Writing alumnus Cyrée Jarelle Johnson ’19 has been awarded the prestigious James Laughlin Award for his second poetry collection, Watchnight (Nightboat Books, 2024).

Writing Alumna Jenessa Abrams ’17 (SPS ’19) has been awarded a prestigious National Book Critics Circle Emerging Critics Fellowship. 

Salesman之死, a new play by playwright and  Adjunct Associate Professor of Writing Jeremy Tiang, will premiere in October at Off-Broadway mainstay Connelly Theater, presented by ​​Yangtze Rep in association with Gung Ho Projects and directed by Obie-Award-winning director, Michael Leibenluft.
