Theatre alumn C. Quintana ’13 has recently released The 126-Year-Old Artist on Audible, an audioplay that shows the path to success isn’t always straightforward. You can listen to the trailer here.

At the center of Quintana’s play is Reinalda Paraíso, a resilient painter whose life and work form the backbone of The 126-Year-Old Artist. “If this is one of those robocalls, please delete my number,” orders Reinalda. On the other end of the line is Yésica Ortega, a young, queer, Latine curator who “discovers” Reinalda’s work at a flea market and becomes obsessively determined to make a name for them both. Quintana’s play was commissioned by the Audible Emerging Playwrights Fund, an initiative dedicated to encouraging the creation of innovative original plays. As a commissioned playwright, Quintana received funding and creative support to develop The 126-Year-Old Artist. The play is narrated by Julissa Calderon, Sagan Chen, Zuleyma Guevara, Elise Santora and Rita Wolf.
