Dear Class of 2021,

I am following up with some questions that several of you have asked about graduation.

Since this academic year has been extended through the summer, the department had planned that most of you would graduate in October.  This would allow you to take classes in Summer A and B.   If you opt to graduate at the end of June, you will not be able to take courses in Summer B.

You may participate in either Class of 2021 Thesis Show as an October graduate, as a Thesis Completion student or an alumni.  In order to graduate, you will need to turn in a Thesis Statement and meet with your Thesis Committee.  If this does not align with the show you are in, we will make the Thesis Committee meeting available again during the show.  We will hold a meeting about Thesis Guidelines in March.

International Students: We are working with ISSO to confirm the end of program date  as it corresponds with the end of summer classes.   If you plan to graduate in October and your I-20 expires in May, you will need to extend it.  I am working on a time for a meeting with ISSO and Dean Laila Maher.  I will send this to you soon.
