Alumnus Jonathan Seinen ’20 directs and produces Ho Ka Kei’s Iphigenia and the Furies (On Taurian Land) at Theatre Passe Muraille, in Toronto, Ontario.

In Ka Kei’s reimagining, Iphegenia serves as the high priestess to the goddess Artemis on Tauros, where she is compelled to sacrifice any foreigners who try to enter. When she discovers that an exiled prisoner is her brother, she plots her escape only to be confronted by a force beyond her power. Winner of the Toronto Theatre Critics’ Award for Best New Canadian Play in 2019, Iphigenia and the Furies (On Taurian Land) transforms the ancient Greek myth of Agamemnon’s daughter into a quick-witted, genre-defying theatrical experience, asking our generation to write a new narrative for our times.

The production marks the reopening of Theatre Passe Muraille and runs February 23-26, 2022. Tickets can be purchased here
