Film alum Grainne Godfree ’03 wrote and co-executive produced an episode of Daredevil: Born Again now streaming on Disney+. The episode, With Interest, is the fifth of the season, where the titular superhero infiltrates a bank robbery as a hostage.
Daredevil: Born Again focuses on Matt Murdock, or Daredevil, a superhero whose encounter with radioactive substances left him blind and his other senses extremely heightened. Attorney by day, the New Yorker moonlights as a vigilante protecting Hell’s Kitchen. Daredevil was created by Stan Lee for Marvel.
In the episode With Interest, Murdock leverages both his powers and society’s underestimation of people with disabilities to defang an armed bank robbery. The episode ends with Murdock performing sleight of hand with a diamond and a piece of candy.
Before Daredevil: Born Again, Godfree wrote and produced several other DC and Marvel cinematic universe projects. Her other writing and producing credits include Legends of Tomorrow, Secret Invasion, The Flash and Arrow.
