Film alumna Claire Fowler ’11 made her US television directorial debut on the latest season of Manifest, the hit series from Netflix.

In Manifest, a plane mysteriously lands years after takeoff, and the people onboard return to a world that has moved on without them. The fourth season of the show premiered on Netflix on June 2, 2023 and stars Melissa Roxburgh (Star Trek: Beyond), Josh Dallas (Once Upon a Time), J.R. Ramirez (Jessica Jones), and others.

Fowler directed episode 414, entitled “Fata Morgana,” which follows the terrifying descent of a plague that the characters must scramble to combat. “The episode is crazy,” Fowler said. “It is filled with chases, shoot-outs, hauntings, and more. While it’s very different from my personal work, it is a lot of fun.”
