After its successful run at the Santa Barbara Film Festival in January 2020, The Restoration, written and directed by alumnus Alonso Llosa '16 and produced by alumnus Gustavo Rosa '16, was picked up by Shoreline Entertainment for worldwide distribution and will be introduced to buyers at this year’s European Film Market at the Berlinale from February 20 to February 27. The film is co-produced by alumni Mauro Mueller '13 and David Figueroa '13, executive produced by alumna Olga Goister '15, associate produced by faculty member and alumna Julia Solomonoff ''00 and shot by alumnus Sean Webley '16.

The Restoration is a comedy about a 50 year old manchild running out of ways to sustain his pleasure-driven lifestyle. He hatches a highly-questionable plan to sell his mother’s historic house–without her knowing.

Alonso Llosa was born and raised in Lima, Peru. He graduated from UCLA Film School in 2003. While working in Los Angeles as a video and film editor, Alonso produced and directed a no-budget feature film, The Lucids.

In 2014, he was the associate producer of That Film About Money Parts 1 and 2, segments in the Webby-Award winning We the Economy omnibus film. In 2016, he was the associate producer of Indignation directed by Professor James Schamus. He is currently the associate producer in Love and Capital, a mini-series on the life of Karl Marx.
