Programs of Study

Columbia University School of the Arts awards the Master of Fine Arts degree in Film, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Writing, as well as an interdisciplinary program in Sound Art that leads to an MFA in Visual Arts. The School also offers a Master of Arts degree in Film and Media Studies

We are the home of a vibrant undergraduate education at Columbia, with majors in Creative Writing, Film and Media Studies, and Visual Arts that lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree awarded by Columbia College and the School of General Studies.  We also offer courses for visiting students of all ages and artistic levels in our Summer Program in association with the School of Professional Studies.

Film

A film program at one of the world's great universities with a faculty of working professionals esteemed in both Hollywood and the independent film community. Concentrations in Creative Producing, Screenwriting & Directing, and Writing for Film & Television.

An interdisciplinary studio program that allows students to pursue moving image, photography, painting, printmaking, sculpture, expanded practice, and sound, while also encouraging them to explore new horizons.
