Zoom-In

Zoom-In is an annual event held at Columbia University School of the Arts’ Lenfest Center for the Arts in the Spring and organized solely by the MA students in the Film and Media Studies Program. This event features screenings, conversations, and presentations related to the thesis projects of the graduating MA students. Many students consider it something of a capstone for their education. Zoom-In is organized and administered solely by the students, offering them the opportunity to plan a budget and the event’s format, learn how to acquire public performance rights for screenings, create and place publicity, and other aspects involved in organizing and running an event.  This annual event is a central component of the Film and Media Studies Program’s commitment to providing training and mentoring to the MA students in film and event curating along with their training in history, theory, and criticism.
