Wai Lau, a current student in the visual arts program, is currently featured in four group exhibits across the world, two in Hong Kong, and two in the U.S.

The Student Spotlight series aims to highlight the work of current MFA students, asking them to share thoughts on their practice by answering curated and peer-submitted questions.

This fall, alumna and sculptor Vivian Chiu ’19 has art featured in two shows, one in Richmond, VA, and one in Philadelphia, PA.

The Pavilion, a four-panel mural by current Baris Gokturk, is currently being installed in Columbia University’s Butler Library (Rooms 211 and 602).

This fall, Associate Professor Shelly Silver has art in four exhibits: three in Germany and one in Japan.

Visiting Professor Susanna Coffey has a solo exhibit at the Alpha Gallery in Boston, MA, titled Night Light: 1995-2019. 

This fall, Professor Aliza Nisenbaum is featured in two exhibits:  a solo exhibit at the Anton Kern Gallery in New York, and a group exhibition in Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Arts.

Professor Miya Masaoka, Head of Sound Art, has been invited to the Inaugural Toronto Biennial, which is a new international contemporary visual arts event that stretches across Toronto’s waterfront. She also had a recent exhibition at the Gutenberg Sound Art Academy, located in Mainz, Germany.

Rona Yefman ’09, a mentor and alumna of the visual arts program, put on her first Scandinavian show this past May with the solo exhibit The Strongest Girl in the World. The gallery presenting the show is the Oslo Kunstforening, in Oslo, Norway.

This Thursday, a solo exhibit of Professor Rirkrit Tiravanija’s work will open at the Glenstone Museum in Potomac, MD. The exhibit is titled FEAR EATS THE SOUL.

Visual arts alum N. Dash '10 has a solo show on view at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
