From March 31 to September 10, 2023, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum will turn its space over to Professor of Visual Arts Sarah Sze for her solo exhibition, Sarah Sze: Timelapse.

Adjunct Associate Professor of Visual Arts Pamela Sneed has been awarded a Creative Capital award for the 2023 cycle.

Sound Art alumna Lauren Covey ’21 has recently been named an Associated Artist by Culture Push, where she will receive fiscal, institutional and creative support for a project called Sonic Portraits of NY.

Visual Arts students Kevin Cobb and Nick Farhi, and alumnus Elzie Williams III '22, are participating in MZ.25 (My Condolences), a reimagined group exhibition at the renowned M+B Gallery in Los Angeles, California. 

Visual Arts student Kat Lowish and alumni Asif Mian ’21, Emma Schwartz ’19, and Elzie Williams III ’22 are featured in Thierry Goldberg Gallery’s group show, True Alchemy.

The Albuquerque Museum is hosting three exhibitions focused on contemporary interpretations of the New Mexico landscape. One of these exhibitions is Becoming Land, by Associate Professor and Chair of Visual Arts Nicola López '04 and Paula Wilson '05, which will be on view until February 12, 2023. 

For Visual Arts alum Sophie Kovel ’22, the new year began with a solo show at Petrine Gallery in Paris, France.

Visual Arts student Calvin Kim ’23 showed three works at Subtitled NYC’s group show in Brooklyn, NY, Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pic.

Mian’s art practice is equal parts ritual and performance, plan and chance.

Adjunct Professor of Visual Arts Shirly Bahar has been awarded a Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies Fellowship to be carried out at the University of Michigan.

Visual Artist Assistant Professor Adama Delphine Fawundu ’18 is featured in multiple shows this year, from the Bamako Encounters—African Biennale of Photography in Mali and a group exhibition in the Goodman Gallery in Capetown/Johannesburg, South Africa, to a show in the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Over the course of 2023, three Visual Arts alumni will partake in the prestigious month-long Fountainhead Residency.
