Visual Arts - Studio Assistance Subsidy Email

July 17, 2020

Dear Students and Alumni Participating in the Class of 2020 Thesis Exhibition,

I'm pleased to convey that the School of the Arts will provide, on a non-precedent setting basis, a studio rent subsidy of $2,000 for Visual Arts and Sound Art students who intend to participate in the Class of 2020 Thesis Exhibition.  Specifically, MFA students registered for Thesis Completion who will graduate in April 2021, as well May and October 2020 and February 2021 graduates, are eligible to receive the subsidy, as long as they intend to complete and exhibit work in the Class of 2020 Thesis Exhibition.

As stipulated, you may elect to participate in the exhibition virtually. The studio does not need to be located in the New York Metropolitan area or in the U.S, however, documentation of a signed studio lease is required. You may either upload a signed and dated lease agreement when you request the subsidy or provide documentation of a signed studio lease within 30 days of receipt of the subsidy. If documentation is not provided within 30 days of the receipt of the subsidy, the funds must be returned. Requests may be submitted anytime between July 15, 2020 through February 1, 2021.

Please use the attached form and submit all requests directly to me ([email protected]), not to the School's Emergency Relief Fund. Please also direct any questions directly to me.

All the best,

Laura
