Dear MFA Students,
Looking ahead to the unique summer term included in the 20-21 academic year, here is the policy on the number and types of courses MFA Film students can enroll for.
The tuition charged in the Fall 20 and Spring 21 terms covers a total of 36 credits for the three-term academic year, including your core requirements and any electives you can fit under that limit.
If you have registered for less than 36 credits over the Fall 20 and Spring 21 terms, you may use the remaining credits to register for an eligible summer term course. More information on which classes are eligible will be forthcoming in February. SOA registration for the summer term begins March 15th.
If you will complete 36 credits by the end of the Spring term, the only courses you will be able to take in the summer session without paying additional tuition are the following core MFA classes that were moved from the regular academic year to the summer term.
1st year: Directing Actors 2 (if a hybrid version is offered in summer)
2nd year: Fundamentals of Editing (if offered Summer A)
1st and 2nd year: Your HTC (Film & Media Studies requirement) if you have not already done one of these courses in 20-21.
