School of the Arts Welcomes Associate Dean of Development, Wendy Mazo

February 03, 2025

Dear School of the Arts Faculty and Staff—

I am delighted to announce that Wendy Mazo has joined our staff as the Associate Dean for Development. As such, she will be leading our efforts to fundraise for the School of the Arts, engaging with alumni and with other supporters, and working closely with our current development staff to help secure a bright future for our students and our faculty. Wendy will be collaborating with me, with other senior leaders within the School of the Arts, with Development officers throughout Columbia, and with our faculty and staff to develop and realize our strategic vision, and to bring new resources to our School.

Wendy Mazo

Wendy comes to Columbia with a wealth of experience in arts fundraising. For nearly the last decade, Wendy has led the Development Department at 92NY (ie. The 92nd Street Y, New York), where she was part of significant annual and capital fundraising campaigns. Over three decades, she has worked as a development leader at some of NYC’s most distinguished arts, education and health care organizations, including The New York Public Library, the Board of Education, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Lighthouse International, the American Cancer Society, and the Kaufman Music Center. In all of these roles, Wendy has operated with energy, passion, care, and profound motivation to help shepherd these great institutions toward better futures.

In coming to the School of the Arts, she brings these thirty years of experience, matched with the recognition that nothing is more important for the arts than the education of new artists, and the support of working professionals like our faculty. To help us in our goal of massively reducing student financial stress, improving our facilities, and supporting our faculty, she will bring great professional knowledge and personal skill.

Please join us in welcoming Wendy to the School of the Arts!
