Patch of Sky, a debut book written and illustrated by Film alumna Nic Yulo '18, will be published in July of 2022. Patch of Sky is now available for pre-order.

Patch of Sky is a children's picture book that tells the story of a fiercely determined girl who will do anything to help her pig best friend finally see the sky. When Pia learns the terrible news that pigs can't look straight up, she'll do whatever it takes to share the beauty of the big wide sky with her right-hand-pig, Patches. Patch of Sky is a story about "determination, empathy, and learning to look at the world in a whole new way."

Patch of Sky was sold in a four-house auction and will be published by Dial Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Penguin Random House. An early concept design for Patch of Sky was selected from a pool of over two thousand worldwide entries as the Top Talent in Illustration at the 2019 Adobe Design Achievement Awards.

Yulo is also a writer-director whose work has received an Alfred P. Sloan Screenwriting Award, a Breaking Barriers Grant for Female Directors, an Adobe Design Achievement Award, and been featured at the Sloan Film Summit presented by Film Independent. Yulo writes for Ubisoft's AAA game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, and its Splinter CellTerminatorFuture Soldier, and Rainbow Six Siege Crossover episodes. In 2021, Nic was inducted, as a game writer, into the BAFTA Newcomers Program, representing NYC.
